A somewhat busy week, I seemed to have been out everyday, but I’ve booked the church for our wedding, St Godric’s, and had an appointment with the wedding organiser at Durham Castle, I also managed to fit in learning to knit, and something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, I learnt to weld!

It was very enjoyable, and not as hard as I imagined it would be, once I was given my safety gear, talk, and demonstration! Thanks Dad x

Fabric Jewellery

Last week I picked up a book in a charity shop called “Embroidered Jewellery”, it’s quite interesting, although I haven’t made any of their projects yet, I have picked up on a few of their techniques and created some lovely Asian inspired brooches ready for the Chinese New Year! I’ve also created a denim “Cuff” embellished with pieces of a broken necklace.

I went to take a photo to post, to find that I’d let Andrew use my batterys and hadn’t gotten them back yet!

Sports Relief!

I’ve decided to enter myself in to the sports relief mile! Well, 3 Miles, that takes place at the end of March just outside of Durham. It’ll give me my first goal to strive for towards competing in a 10km (6 mile) race!

Slow and steady wins the race

Or in my case, at least I hope it does! I’m currently hoping that by taking things slowly and yet persistantly I will get where I need to be, life isn’t a race, it is to be enjoyed, not passed by so fast that everything seems like a fuzzy blur and you can’t really remember how you got there.

My resolutions for this year; or at least what I would like to see happen

To gain meaningful employment (a long shot in this economic climate, but a necessary goal for a happy life)

To not lose focus on a healthier lifestyle

To train for both the great north run, and the 3 peak challenge!

Happy New Year Everyone!

This year is off to a great start, I am full of cold! I suppose that’s what happens over the holiday season when you spend alot of time with family and friends!

I am however loving my little studio/office in the spare room, which I will share photos of later today!
